Our Cadets Program, designed for ages 10-15, offers a dynamic mix of Gi and No-Gi Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and MMA, helping young athletes build strength, technique, and discipline. With a focus on developing both physical and mental toughness, cadets learn valuable skills in self-defense, competition, and teamwork. The program encourages a strong work ethic and fosters confidence, respect, and perseverance, while preparing participants for success both on and off the mats. Whether they are new to martial arts or looking to take their skills to the next level, our cadets are provided with expert coaching and a supportive environment to grow. Through consistent training and competition opportunities, young athletes are empowered to challenge themselves and achieve their personal best.

What is Mixed martial arts?

Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) is a comprehensive combat sport that combines various martial arts disciplines, including Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, boxing, and wrestling. For cadets aged 10-15, our MMA program provides a safe and structured environment to learn striking, grappling, and self-defense techniques while building confidence, discipline, and teamwork.

 

The focus is on developing both physical fitness and mental toughness, helping young athletes improve coordination, strength, and problem-solving skills. Our experienced coaches guide cadets through the fundamentals of MMA, teaching them valuable life skills such as respect, focus, and perseverance, all while encouraging a positive, fun, and supportive atmosphere. Whether for fitness, self-defense, or competition, MMA offers a well-rounded training experience for your child’s growth.

MEET COACH TROY

Coach Troy Fumo is a professional Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter and esteemed coach at Pro Fitness MMA Somerville. In 2023, he secured a victory at the Hex Fight Series, marking his first professional MMA win after debuting on ETERNAL. His amateur accolades include two Flyweight Championship titles in 2022 and the South Pacific Championship in 2020. As an IMMAF Oceania Champion and brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Coach Troy has proudly represented Australia twice at the Amateur MMA World Championships. Coach Troy is deeply passionate about sharing his knowledge to guide others on their martial arts journey.
