Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (Gi & No-Gi):

Whether you choose Gi or No-Gi, our BJJ classes focus on developing your grappling and ground-fighting skills. In Gi BJJ, you'll learn to control and submit opponents using the traditional kimono, emphasizing grips and positional control. No-Gi BJJ offers a faster-paced, more fluid style without the kimono, perfect for developing techniques that are commonly used in MMA. Both styles emphasize technique over strength, making it a great choice for anyone looking to improve their self-defense, flexibility, and problem-solving skills.

Mixed Martial Arts (MMA):

Our MMA program combines striking, grappling, and conditioning to give you a complete combat sports experience. You’ll train in disciplines like boxing, Muay Thai, wrestling, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, learning to be effective in both standing and ground combat. Combat Conditioning:

This class focuses on building strength, endurance, and power to enhance your performance in MMA and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Our Strength and Conditioning sessions include functional training, mobility exercises, and high-intensity workouts designed to improve overall fitness. MEET COACH TROY

Coach Troy Fumo is a professional Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter and esteemed coach at Somerville MMA. In 2023, he secured a victory at the Hex Fight Series, marking his first professional MMA win after debuting on ETERNAL. His amateur accolades include two Flyweight Championship titles in 2022 and the South Pacific Championship in 2020. As an IMMAF Oceania Champion and brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Coach Troy has proudly represented Australia twice at the Amateur MMA World Championships. Coach Troy is deeply passionate about sharing his knowledge to guide others on their martial arts journey.
